Conrad sends Tigers to state

CEDAR RAPIDS — In a Class 5A Region 8 final game that was worthy of its stature, the Cedar Falls girls’ basketball team showed the heart and tenacity to make the state tournament for the first time since 2008.

After their 16-point rout of the then No.12 Wichita State Shockers, the UNI men’s basketball team found themselves in a “trap game” on the road at Indiana State. That particular “trap game” turned into a 61-51 defeat of the Missouri Valley’s then-third-place team.
