11:20 p.m.

Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Joseph Michael Cofield, 30, of Iowa City, and Tristan James Daniels, 30, of Coralville. Both charged with third or subsequent offense Possession of Controlled Substance (class D felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). These arrests were made following a report of a suspicious vehicle driving slowly in the area of 330th Street and Quonset Avenue north of Walker.

Monday, June 3

1:20 p.m.

Deputies arrested Kelley Jean Staker, 48, of Hazleton on active warrants out of Buchanan County for Probation Violation and Failure to Appear. This arrest was made in the 300 block of W Hayes Street in Hazleton.

Tuesday, June 4

11:30 a.m.

Deputies arrested Matthew Sterling Morris, 37, of Hazleton on an active warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear. Morris was transported to and held at the Buchanan County Jail.

5:15 p.m.

Deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the 1300 block of Baxter Avenue south of Fairbank. According to the investigation, a 2015 Honda Accord operated by Judy Boehme of Fairbank was traveling southbound on Baxter Avenue and was slowing to turn into a driveway. A 2013 Ford F150 operated by Rodney Stoler of Jesup was also traveling southbound behind the Boehme vehicle and was unable to stop in time, colliding with the rear of the Boehme vehicle. No injuries were reported and Stoler was cited for Following Too Closely.

Wednesday, June 5

2:10 a.m.

Deputies arrested Makinzi Ruema Maulsby, 22, of Waterloo on an active warrant out of Buchanan County for an original charge of fourth degree theft (serious misdemeanor). Maulsby was held at the Buchanan County Jail.

8:15 p.m.

Deputies arrested Ty Alyn Hickman, 29, of Jesup on an active warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear. Hickman was held at the Buchanan County Jail.

Thursday, June 6

10:30 a.m.

Deputies arrested Ryan Zachary Martin, 37, of Oelwein on an active warrant out of Buchanan County for Probation Violation. Martin was held at the Buchanan County Jail.

10:10 p.m.

Deputies arrested Becky Jo Dalton 51, of Independence on charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). Dalton was also cited for Failure to Have Valid Driver License. This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of First Street W in Independence.

11:00 p.m.

Deputies arrested Jessica Marie Heidt, 32, and Daniel Dean Heidt, 39, both of Oelwein on active warrants out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear. The Heidts were transported to and held at the Buchanan County Jail.

Friday, June 7

9:05 p.m.

Deputies arrested Jodi Marie Sherman, 30, of Waterloo on an active warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear. Sherman was transported to and held at the Buchanan County Jail.

10:25 p.m.

Deputies arrested Jeffery Ryan Wilson, Sr., 32, of Oelwein on charges of driving While License Barred (aggravated misdemeanor), Driving While License suspended (simple misdemeanor), and cited for Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance. This arrest was made following a traffic stop near 100th Street and Harrison Avenue west of Oelwein.

Saturday, June 8

12:15 a.m.

Deputies arrested Sherrie Lynn Routt, 54, of Oelwein on charges of first offense Operating While Intoxicated (serious misdemeanor) and cited for Open Container. This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Jackson Avenue (Hwy 150) north of Hazleton.

10:00 p.m.

Deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at 28th Street and Troy Mills Boulevard east of Quasqueton. According to the investigation, a 2002 Ford Focus operated by Jacob Lowery of Salem was traveling northbound on Troy Mills Boulevard and failed to stop at a stop sign at 280thStreet. The car went through the “T” intersection and entered the north ditch, coming to rest. Lowery was transported by ambulance to Buchanan County Health Center in Independence and subsequently transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City with unspecified injuries. This incident remains under investigation and charges are pending. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Quasqueton Fire Department, Winthrop Fire Department, and Area Ambulance Service.

Sunday, June 9

9:45 a.m.

Deputies arrested Ricky Ray Howard, Jr., 36, of Waterloo on an active warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to appear. Howard was held at the Buchanan County Jail.

10:50 a.m.

Deputies arrested Sean Joseph Abbott, 29, of Jesup on an active warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to appear. Abbott was held at the Buchanan County Jail.

Monday, June 10

7:45 p.m.

Deputies arrested Dereak Chance Higdon, 27, of Independence on an active warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to appear. Higdon was held at the Buchanan County Jail.

Tuesday, June 11

8:45 a.m.

Deputies arrested Laura Renee Payne, 37, of Independence on an active warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to appear. Payne was held at the Buchanan County Jail. This arrest was made in the 900 block Sixth Avenue NE in Independence.

Friday, June 14

1:30 a.m.

Deputies arrested Laura Lynn Brown, 55, of Cedar Rapids on charges of second offense Possession of Controlled Substance (aggravated misdemeanor), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor), and Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Fifth Avenue NE in Independence.
