JESUP – The Jesup varsity softball team defeated Clayton Ridge 16-0 in three innings on Tuesday.

The J-Hawks scored eight runs in both the first and second innings to take a commanding lead and kept Clayton Ridge off the scoreboard.

Jesup senior pitcher Rhianna Bigwood (8-3) started the game and went three innings with two strikeouts; while allowing five hits, no walks and no runs.

Jesup combined for six hits, five walks, 16 runs and six stolen bases in Tuesday’s contest. Third baseman Jenna Jensen had two hits, two runs, an RBI and two stolen bases. Center fielder Zoe Miller had a double, a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base.

Jesup is now 13-4 after their big win against Clayton Ridge. They play at the Waverly-Shell Rock softball tournament on Saturday. Then, they will host a game against Cascade on Monday.
