HAZLETON — The “Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer” is the theme for the Haze Daze parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8. The parade officially kicks off the 32nd annual Haze Daze Flea Market, a two-day event featuring antiques and collectables, and fun for the entire family.

Saturday events include the parade, which requires no entry fee to participate, a Civil War reenactment south of City Park, and lots of vendors and Amish booths of crafts, baked goods, tools and toys. Bingo will be held in the main shelter 1-3 p.m.

Kids’ activities begin at 11 a.m. and include barrel rides and inflatables, prize games, cakewalk, petting zoo and kids’ waterball from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on South First Street. Wristbands of $10 each will be available, along with prize game tickets at 5 for $2.

The annual Firemen’s Spaghetti Supper will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the new fire station. Tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for kids age 10 and younger.

A bean bag tournament will be held in the tennis court area. Signup will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at $10 per team. The event begins at 3 p.m. featuring double elimination and 75% payback for first, second and third place.

Music from 3-11 p.m. Saturday will be provided by DJ Ozzie. More than $300 worth of prizes have been donated by the Hazleton Commercial Club and local merchant donations. Raffle tickets will be sold for the prize drawing to be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $1 each.

Sunday events include the Methodist Church pancake, ham and egg breakfast in the Hazleton Legion Hall, 7:30 a.m. to noon. More waterball contests, vendors, food and bingo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bruce Bearinger will provide music 1-3 p.m. and the children’s parade on decorated wheels will be 1:30 p.m.

The Hazleton Commercial Club sponsors the annual Haze Daze Flea Market and all proceeds go to Hazleton area projects.
