Friday, July 5

On July 5, 2019 at 1:57 a.m., Oelwein Police arrested Stephanie Helen Lane, 28 of Oelwein. She was charged with driving while license revoked, a serious misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 200 block West Charles.

Thursday, July 4

At 2:36 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested David Duane Latham, 62, of Oelwein, on a Fayette County warrant on an original charge of fraudulent practices. This arrest followed an officer’s interaction with the subject in the 600 block 1st Avenue Northeast.

Monday, July 1

At 2:30 p.m., Oelwein officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd Ave. NW and West Charles and cited the driver, Jedidiah Lee Parks, 24, for driving while license suspended.

At 8 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of North Frederick for a report of a property damage accident. Officers cited driver, Taylor Marie Johnson, 19 of Oelwein, for driving while license suspended, failure to have insurance and improper registration.

Oelwein officers arrested Nathan Michael Williams, 31, of Oelwein, for driving while barred, following a traffic stop at 8:40 p.m., in the 300 block of 3rd Av SE.

At 1:10 p.m., officers arrested Dillon John Sommerfelt, 32, for a parole violation warrant from the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office. Sommerfelt was arrested in the 300 block of 1st Ave NW in Oelwein.

Sunday, June 30

At 4:14 a.m., Oelwein Police arrested Tyler Terren Thompson, 27, of Oelwein, on a Buchanan County probation violation warrant on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance. This arrest followed an officer’s interaction with the subject in the 100 block 12th Street Southeast.

Saturday, June 29

At 6:44 p.m., officers responded to 200 block 5th Avenue Southwest for a burglary report. This incident remains under investigation.

Friday, June 28

At 7 p.m., officers arrested Donald Eugene Latham, 62, of Oelwein on a charge of public intoxication, third or subsequent offense, an aggravated misdemeanor. This arrest stemmed from officers’ interaction with Latham in the 500 block of 5th Street Northeast.

Wednesday, June 26

At 10:04 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Dillon John Sommerfelt, 32 of Oelwein. Sommerfelt was arrested on a Buchanan County warrant for assault. Also arrested was Brooke Renee Sommerfelt, 29, of Oelwein. Sommerfelt was arrested on two Buchanan County warrants, the first was for assault with injury and the second was for interference with official acts. These arrest followed officer’s interaction with the subjects in the 300 block 1st Avenue Northwest.

Tuesday, June 25

At 9:22 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of South Frederick for a report of criminal mischief. This incident remains under investigation.

At 2:27 p.m., officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block North Frederick in Oelwein. Officers cited Ronald Charles Imhoff, 47 of Oelwein, for driving while license suspended, a simple misdemeanor.

At 4:45 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Aaron Andrew Schmitt, 27, of Independence. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance -serious misdemeanor and violation of a no contact order — simple misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 1900 block of South Frederick.

Friday, June 21

At 8:05 a.m., officers responded to 300 block South Frederick for a report of criminal mischief. This incident remains under investigation.

At 9:50 a.m., officers responded to 1000 block 1st Avenue Southwest for a report of criminal mischief. This incident remains under investigation.

At 11:55 a.m., officers responded to 400 block of East Charles for a reported theft. This incident remains under investigation.

Thursday, June 20

At 8:29 a.m., officers responded to 400 block 7th Avenue Southeast for a report of criminal mischief. This incident remains under investigation.

At 9:25 a.m., officers responded to 10 block of West Charles for a report of criminal mischief. This incident remains under investigation.

At 12:26 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 300 block W Charles for a reported Criminal Mischief. This incident remains under investigation.

At 3:02 p.m., officers responded to 200 block of 3rd Avenue Northwest for a report of criminal mischief. This incident remains under investigation.
