Thursday, June 13

5:30-7 p.m. — Bicycle Poker Run Registration — Register at the Wapsie Elementary entrance. Cost: $10 for adults (18 and older), $5 children (17 and younger)

6-8 p.m. — Bicycle Poker Run — Bicyclists ride around town on to various stops to collect playing cards. The best 5 card poker hand wins. (Adult prize $150, kids prize $75).

Dusk — Family Movie Night, Readlyn Elementary Gym. Concessions available.

Friday, June 148 a.m. — “Grumpsters” Readlyn annual golf tourney: Four-person best shot at Maple Hills Country Club in Tripoli. Reservations: 319-882-4229

4 p.m. to 1 a.m. — Beer tent open. No charge for required wristband

4:30-7 p.m. — Ice cream sundaes at Gazebo

5-8 p.m. — Balloon Man Darrel Anderson

5 p.m. Vendors’ food stands open

5 p.m. Pedal Pull, between park and school, ages 10 and younger

5-6 p.m. — Registration for slip-n-slide kick ball, at the ball park, $50 per team. Contact Rhino Cox for more information, 319-784-7834.

6 p.m. — Slip-n-slide kick ball at the ball park

6 p.m. — Crowning ceremony, music by David Heineman and Cassidy Brunscheon. Will announce the Little “Grumpsters,” 2019 Miss Readlyn, 2019 Readlyn Grump and Volunteer of the Year Award.

7-8:30 p.m. — Pepper Tourney at the Gazebo, no registration needed.

2:30 p.m. — Minnow Races begin

8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. — Michell Baevers music entertainment in the tent

10 p.m. — Fireworks, seating available on the east side of Zion Lutheran Church. Bring a lawn chair. Free will donations will be collected for 2020 fireworks

Saturday, June 15

8 a.m. — 5K Walk/Run — $25 registration. Go to

10 a.m. — Parade, contact Courtney Hesse, 319-939-6126. The lune up will be on the east and west sides of Quarter Avenue.

After parade — Food stands and beer tent open, no charge for required wristband. No coolers or insulated cups.

11 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Grumpsters Chipped and Treasured Market, Loebeck and 4th Street, vendors welcome, contact Kim Brown 319-415-9675.

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Heroes Gather Here— interact with a local hero at City Park

11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Kids in the Park, $5 wristbands required, carnival games, face painting by Amy and Sydney Baker, Hick’s Place Mobile Laser Tag, bouncy houses, casting contest, prize bags and goodies.

Noon to 3 p.m. — Balloon Man Darrel Anderson

1 p.m. — Schafskopf card tourney in the tent

2-5 p.m. — 1st Shine and Show on Main Street

2 p.m. Register for minnow races at the north end of City Park

2:30-4 p.m. — Bingo for all ages at the gazebo, no charge

8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. — Too Beaucoup, musical entertainment in the tent

Sunday, June 16

9 a.m. — Community Church Service in the park with the Rev. Phil Girardin from St. Paul’s and Immanuel Lutheran Church. Bring a lawn chair.
