WEST UNION – The North Fayette Valley varsity baseball team lost to Dike-New Hartford 12-1 at home Wednesday.

Dike-New Hartford scored runs in five of the seven innings last night, as NFV only managed one run in the fourth inning.

The TigerHawks combined for five hits, three walks and one run in Wednesday’s contest. Designated hitter Ty Stee had two hits and an RBI.

NFV senior Lance Butikofer (0-3) pitched six innings with one strikeout; while allowing 13 hits, two walks and 10 earned runs. Kale Rodgers pitched one inning of relief with no strikeouts; while allowing two hits, two walks and two earned runs.

North Fayette Valley is now 6-9 after Wednesday’s loss. They played a road game against Denver on Thursday and will host a game against North Linn on Friday.
