BELLEVUE – The East Buchanan varsity softball team lost both ends of their road doubleheader against Marquette Catholic on Thursday.

Marquette Catholic won the first game 5-2, behind a four-run first inning. The Mohawks came from behind to win the second game 10-3, with a five-run fourth inning.

Sophomore pitcher Emma Cook (L) started the first game for the Buccaneers and went six innings with six strikeouts; while allowing 10 hits, eight walks and five earned runs.

East Buchanan combined for four hits, no walks and two runs in the first game. Center fielder Lauren Donlea had two hits, a run and a double in the contest.

Freshman Ella Cook (L) started the second game for East Buchanan and went 4.2 innings with no strikeouts; while allowing eight hits, nine walks and seven earned runs. Emma Cook pitched the final 1.1 innings in relief with no strikeouts and one earned run.

East Buchanan combined for eight hits, four walks, three runs and five stolen bases in the second game. Lauren Donlea had two hits, a walk, a run, a double, two RBIs and two stolen bases. Emma Cook had two hits, a walk, a run and a stolen base.

East Buchanan is now 8-9 after their doubleheader loss to Marquette Catholic. They play next on Monday for a home doubleheader against Easton Valley.
