SUMNER- The Warriors beat the Cougars by a convincing score of 74-49 to win their season opener on the road.
Sumner-Fredericksburg started the game out by making two three-point shots in a row. However, Wapsie Valley soon answered with a three-pointer of their own and never looked back.
The Warriors put up 20 points in the second quarter and entered halftime with a commanding 34-19 lead.
In the second half, Wapsie Valley kept the momentum and outscored Sumner-Fredericksburg in both the third and fourth quarters.
For their next game, Wapsie Valley will travel to Denver for a Tuesday matchup. They will then play at Columbus Catholic on Friday before their home opener next Saturday against Marion.
