VINTON – The week of June 2-8, has been proclaimed National Garden week by National Garden Clubs, Inc. This is a special week in which garden clubs are in the spotlight with activities focusing on public attention of the role which garden club members play in all phases of gardening.
The Vinton Garden Club has placed designs or bouquets of flowers in banks, library, hospital, and other businesses they choose. They continually maintain the perennial bed in the Tilford Elementary Outdoor Classroom working with the students, Blue Star Marker, Scherbring flower garden fairgrounds pots at grandstand and gate. It is very rewarding to see the beautiful color against the grandstand.
The Vinton Garden Club was revamped starting with two members and getting 8 new members over the winter.
The clubs would like to invite anyone interested in gardening to join their club.
The Vinton Garden Club would like to extend special recognition to the residents of Vinton and surrounding areas for beautifying their properties with landscaping and flowers.
