The Waverly City Council has just cancelled a planned public hearing and second reading of a rezoning ordinance after the applicant withdrew its request to rezone 4.4 acres at Fourth Avenue and 10th Street Southwest.

Casey's General Store had planned to build a second Waverly location at that site, which would have included a car wash. However, deputy city clerk Valerie Northrup released an updated agenda Friday morning that removed the rezoning measure from Monday night's agenda.

Waverly Newspapers will be trying to get updates on this story.
