Finkenauer staff at library today

U.S. Rep. Abby Finkenauer’s (D-Dubuque) staff will be at the Waverly Public Library (1500 W. Bremer Ave.) this Thursday, June 13, from noon to 1 p.m. to assist people who are experiencing difficulties with federal agencies, including everything from backlogged veterans’ benefits to problems with Social Security and Medicare and stalled passports. They are also encouraged to call her office at (319) 364-2288 for assistance any time.

Pistol training class at

Izaak Walton League June 15

The Izaak Walton League Three Rivers Chapter will host an Intermediate Defensive Pistol Training Class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 15 at the chapter house at 1862 Euclid Ave., Waverly. This class is for those that have completed the basic pistol class or have their Concealed Weapons Permit. This class will focus on defensive handgun tactics. It will help in advancing knowledge and skills with defensive firearms. Class side is limited to 10. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may recover from alcoholism. There are no dues or fees. Weekly meetings are held in the lower level of 128 East Bremer Ave. The entrance is at the rear of the building, just off 2nd Street SE, north of the Post Office. Sunday 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday 7 to 8 p.m. and 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
