The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Cedar River in Cedar Falls through Saturday evening from the West Fork of the Cedar River to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls city limits.
However, the flood warning is not expected to affect the Waverly area. As of 9 a.m. on Monday, the Cedar River was measured at 7.42 feet and was leveling off. Flood stage is 12 feet.
The river at Janesville was observed at 8.51 feet and rising, but still well off from the flood stage of 13 feet.
Currently in Cedar Falls, the Cedar River is at 88.7 feet, in the minor flood zone, with flood stage at 88 feet. It is expected to crest at 90.5 feet on Tuesday morning before slowly receding. It will have a secondary crest at 88 feet Saturday night.
