The Waverly Hy-Vee store has distributed more than $3,600 to Waverly-area schools in the 2018-19 version of the Hy-Vee Cash for Students program.

Officials from Waverly-Shell Rock schools and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School were on hand Monday for a check distribution in the Hy-Vee’s Kitchen. The program allows for shoppers to contribute their receipts to the store designated to their preferred school.

For every $250 in receipts collected from June 1, 2018, to April 30, 2019, Hy-Vee donated $1 to the school for which the receipts were designated.

The 2019-20 version is currently underway.
