Clarksville's Kori Wedeking (15) looks for an open teammate while trapped by Janesville's Kennedy Rieken (10) and Briana Baker-Bruce (15) during the Wildcats' 44-35 overtime victory on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at Janesville High School.

JANESVILLE — The Janesville girls' and boys' basketball teams swept Clarksville in a doubleheader on Tuesday night in the Janesville High School gymnasium.

The Wildcat girls, ranked 11th in the Iowa Girls' High School Athletic Union Class 1A preseason rankings, downed the No. 9 Indians, 44-35 in overtime. Briana Baker-Bruce led the way with 15 points, including 5-for-6 from the free-throw line in the extra frame, while Alisa Bengen added 15.

Janet Barchardt paced the Tribe with 13 points. Kari Wedeking chipped in six, Cheyenne Behrends had five, and Emma Poppe posted four points.

In the boys' nightcap, the Wildcats built a large early lead, but the Indians crept back into the contest in the fourth quarter. However, it wasn't enough, as Janesville won, 73-61.

Codey Hicks scored 26 points on 13-for-15 from the field to lead the 'Cats, while Caden Conrad added 14. Clarksville's Chris Behrends scored 27 to pace all scorers, including 4-for-7 from 3-point range.

UPDATE: This article was corrected, as it originally incorrectly had Baker-Bruce scored 16 points and hit 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in overtime. She missed her second shot in the period.
