The Diving for Dollars Campaign continues its fundraising efforts for a new aquatic facility. The volunteer fundraising committee will host the 2019 Splash Dash 5K to take place over the community’s annual Fourth of July celebration.
On Saturday, June 29, the Splash Dash 5K will be held at 7 a.m. at McCague Park, 614 E. Jackson St., Shell Rock. The event is sponsored by Tim Vannordstrand – Farm Bureau Financial Services Agent, Shell Rock Clinic, Nelson and Toenjes Law Offices and Northern Iowa Railway Company.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the first male and female overall and medals will be awarded to the first through third place runners in each age group. Participants can register on the Diving for Dollars website at: https://sites.google.com/view/diving-for-dollars or by picking up a registration form at the Shell Rock City Hall. Those whose registrations are received on or before June 14 will receive a complimentary Splash Dash T-shirt.
The Diving for Dollars Campaign has raised over $2.5 million toward the town’s new aquatic facility. The group plans to break ground in the fall of 2019 with the grand opening taking place at the start of summer 2020.
If, at any time, a community members, group, or business would like to make a general contribution to the Diving for Dollars campaign, there are three ways to do so:

3) Drop off donations at Security State Bank or Shell Rock City Hall
