June 7 marked the end of the school year for Waverly-Shell Rock students. The year seemed super long because of snow days so when the calendar finally foretold the end of academic and athletic adventures on Friday, it was clear everyone was ready for summer fun.

As the clock ticked away, sixth-graders from Mrs. Skinner's and Mr. Angell's classes met on the field behind the school to settle the championship in the annual kickball event for sixth-graders.

On Friday, the stars aligned decisively on Mrs. Skinner's side, and her students made scored their first victory, winning the trophy. Mr. Angell's students, on the other hand, had won the championship for six years, so they were not entirely heart-broken.
