Waverly Mayor Adam Hoffman unpacks the 4-3 vote of the council to decline a one million dollar grant from the Department of Transportation to build a two-lane replacement of the historic Green Bridge, also known as the 3rd St. SE bridge. The full replacement option would have cost tax payers an additional $6.3 million.

The saga of the bridge has been in the works for 41years at least, according to stories reported by the Waverly Democrat, the local paper.
