Emergency personnel sit on the inside shoulder of U.S. Highway 218 south of Waverly to tend to a motorcyclist that had crashed in the median on Tuesday, June 11.

A single-vehicle accident on June 11, on U.S. Highway 218 landed a Minnesota woman in the hospital.

Sandra Howe, 55, of North Mankato, Minnesota, was southbound, around 8:57 a.m., close to the 198 mile marker, just on the edge of Waverly, when she lost control of her motorcycle, a 2002 BMW.

Howe was ejected from her bike and was transported to the Waverly Health Center by Waverly Ambulance.

The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, Waverly Fire Department and Iowa State Patrol also assisted with the accident.

No further information is available about Howe’s condition.
