Work is under way to build a cul de sac across Fourth Street SW. The project will wrap 13th Ave SW and prepare the area for future development.
The traffic signal at the intersection here will be moved up.
Once the cul de sac work is completed, the cul de sac and the detention area will be dedicated to the city, said Bill Werger, the city attorney.
Extension of a cul de sac is being built to end to 13 Avenue SW.
There are four lots plotted around the cul de sac, all commercially zoned at present. A water detention area is being planned in the front part. As soon as the cul de sac is finished, which is paid by the developer, Wavtown Properties, the cul de sac will be dedicated to the city, said Waverly City Attorney Bill Werger. The traffic signal will have to be moved as well to construct the cul the sac, he added.
