In Waverly on June 17, 2020, with the city pool still closed because of the coronavirus restrictions, two fun-loving residents practiced social distancing as they enjoyed the Cedar River. It is unclear, as of this writing, if the city pool will open for the season as social distancing is difficult to practice in a pool environment, the manager tells me.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds' current order extends until June 25, when new rules are expected to be announced, perhaps easing some of the exiting restrictions. Then the pool operation in Waverly will be revisited accordingly.
